Isometric Projection

One types of drawing that shows the three dimensions of a form is isometric projection.

There are three important point to remember when drawing isometric projection

  1. Vertical lines on the form appear as vertical lines in the drawing.
  2. Horizontal lines on the form appear at 30º to the horizontal in the drawing.
  3. Measurements along isometric lines are true measurements (or are scaled proportionately)

Drawing an isometric projection is simplified with the use of isometric grid paper.

Measurements are made along the isometric grid lines.
